How much flake travel can you get with stone? After initial thinning should I hang up the stone and use antler or can I expect reasonable results with hammer stone?

You can eat good solid flakes depending on what type of stone your hammerstone is. The thing about hammer stones is that the bulb of percussion is going to be bigger.

You can get as much travel as you want with a hammerstone. The problem is consistency. You can be more consistent with antler. Why? It's more accurate.

I'm more accurate with stone right now just because I think I hold billets too far back.
