Looks like the string was vibrating in that second pic, you can see the oscilation.

Oh yeah  it's fascinating to see the physics involved in a bow in function.

Yes Chuck and thank you for bringing your son out. I look forward do seeing him compete next year. Good to see Kevin and he’s son braking records. The young people need this now for sure. The sport needs them. We need the young involved in all the archery world. Arvin

welcome to the dark side Arvin.  :)  You know how I feel about BBOs... and now you understand why.  Bamboo and osage are about a perfect match...not fussy about temperatures or humidity and they can stay strung for quite some time with no problems.  My go-to bow for a very long time.  Congrats on the bows and the distances...  :OK
