welcome to the dark side Arvin.  :)  You know how I feel about BBOs... and now you understand why.  Bamboo and osage are about a perfect match...not fussy about temperatures or humidity and they can stay strung for quite some time with no problems.  My go-to bow for a very long time.  Congrats on the bows and the distances...  :OK
Seems like common sense isn't very common any more...

Now to put Arvin’s achievement into proper perspective by highlighting the really impressive part of the story.  Arvin’s 260 yard record for a 50# primitive bamboo backed osage bow (with linen string) also exceeded the 50# MODERN longbow Broadhead record!  The Modern longbows allow all the latest synthetic composite glass & carbon materials for the bow and the latest and greatest modern string materials.  I wonder what would of happened if Arvin shot his bow with a modern string in the modern longbow division?  His achievement is pretty remarkable!

Me to. Doesn’t have to be fancy, but need a full draw.

PS I keep thinking about that stave you sent me and finishing it up. This winter it’s going to be.

I don't know much about flight shooting - when shooting off the side of a cliff like that, do you use hide glue or TB for your shoes?
