I really like the fadeouts. In a dead spot you can do whatever you want but this is a really good idea of design

Sorry, I forgot to answer ...
On this bow the center ridge fades out with the fades.
I also have made lot of bows with ridges over the entire limbs.

What did you use for coating? looks already so dark - danish oil?

This was one of several staves of very dark osage staves, as mentioned above (natural color).
My finish is a home brewed hardening oil, made out of linsed oil, carnauba wax, orange oil and some other ingredients. I make 8 coatings with 1 day drying inbetween on all of my bows.

I do hope that my work is inspiring to others. In no way do I want to intimidate anyone, I don't think there is anyone here (at least I hope not) who intends to do so.
