...here is more of the process. florist wirh is used to build and shape the base of the legs...


...wrap the wire legs with tissue paper. Every time tissue paper is used it is saturated with thinned white Elmer's glue.


...and I try to get the shape of the legs. They will get more shaping as I progress...


I use parts on another toilet paper roll with masking tape to shape the neck and head...




...as I go along I try to get the body and legs shaped and positioning just right. This is the difficult part of the whole build. If this doesn't come out right the whole project just won't look right.

I'd ask you to do a diorama of me with a raptor, but you'd probably pick the moment that bald eagle took a bite outa my nose!

Thanks for posting the progress pics. I really enjoy seeing the progress art goes through to become what it eventually is.

Love this paper mache works Pat.
Never saw before the pappy gift. It's really fantastic! so much care for details.
What colours are you using? is that acrylic + protective coating or is it enamel?

GllsGlls, we use acrylic craft paint with satin poly sprayed over that.

I think JW's Eagle Encounter would be a very neat project!  It has made into the annals of a song I wrote, albeit with a different hero.
