Very interesting. I seem to remember seeing this game played many years ago but never heard what it was called. I doubt the boys playing it knew it had a name.
I've always heard the "snowsnake" would crawl up your butt and freeze you to death from the inside out if you were careless enough to sit on a snow covered log or rock and doze off. I guess it was a old term for hypothermia.
