Novaculite head

I did some knapping with a flintknapper near me and he gave me some novaculite. I worked on one and it snapped…. But no problem, just gonna have a smaller head. Now I would be lying if i said that this was all my work. He helped me get rid of some step fractures and some really thick stuff on it and he flattened out the base. I don’t have pictures of how it started but anyway…

Nicely symmetrical, well balanced and beautiful. Any Deer would be honored to be shot with this one.

Nicely done!  Now strap that thing to a stick and go kill a deer with it.

Well, you are officially a better flintknapper than I am. So far all of my work has been....<snicker>....pointless!
