Flint ridge knapin
« on: July 20, 2021, 02:09:53 pm »
Just checking in to see if anyone else is going to flint ridge this fall. My son and I are planning on going up Friday and didn't know if we could just bring a tarp and a chair to chip or if we need to reserve a spot?

YUP, They reserve  a section along the hard road for us Michigan guys. There will be about 8 of us set up to sell,  right next to Craig Ratzat and his trailer full of rock. Always bring a tarp and chair  but you will be able to sit with just about anyone there. It is a very friendly place. If you have never been there you will be surprised on how many people show up and break rock.

Oh and bring lots of money. Lots of stuff to buy.

Thanks. We were there once a couple years back. The boy really liked it and wants to go back. I had to chuckle of what people who don't understand knapping must think of us buying rocks lol.

Would any of you guys consider taking my money and buying/mailing me some flint ridge?
I’ve been trying for years to get Roy to sell me some with no luck.
I’d make it worth anyone’s time

Not sure if Roy sells raw rock. Most of what I see is heat treated pre-forms and they ain't cheap.
