Backing lime wood with cane wood lamination?

Hi guys, I'm trying to find a suitable wooden backing lamination solution for a 2 layered bow with a lime wood belly and some other wood like hickory or osage/maple (?) as a backing.

Would cane wood be ok? I'd have to buy hickory at a high cost here in Europe but I have a cane wood vendor very close to home and I'd be able to get it inexpensively.

what exactly do you mean by "cane wood"?

If you live in Europe (like I do) you can use many local species for backing: white ash/maple/oak/birch/etc. Just make sure your wood is straight grained....then cut a edge grained strip. I have done that for bows up to 60#. For higher poundage I would go for bamboo backing. Good luck

A  lime belly?

lime no good for a belly, too soft for a bow.

Lime is a fantastic carving wood but no good for bow wood.
