Bear hide quiver question
« on: May 23, 2021, 06:26:10 pm »
Cut a quiver pattern out of last years bear hide, figuring on doing hair in to pad and quieten the shafts down.

Decided to fold it over and give it a test run before stitching.   The hair is so long and scruffy that broadheads get hung up in it.  Even field points don't really want to go in.

Parts of the hair side slipped or rubbed off so it's not a very attractive appearance to do hair out...looks sickly in parts.

Is it common to give a haircut under this circumstance?  A bit of a trim to the inner portion that's out of sight?

Never done it but don't see how that could hurt anything, that's probably what I would do if the longer hair was giving a problem.
