Anyone else???

"Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he shall not depart from it."
Just thought I would post a couple pics about teaching my son bark removal. Anytime a pick up a draw knife he needs to have one or anytime I pick up my bow he needs to have his bow in hand. I've been slowly teaching him to shoot pinch grip style of course (like me). Hes gonna grow up a little indian boy. He definitely has potential.

Raising kids and tillering bows have a lot in common, take your time, avoid drastic changes, and allow for character! Looks like you have potential in this one being a straight shooter.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Me  :) my oldest had a phase when he was interested in bowmaking and shooting. he lost it again. the younger ones like to shoot soemtimes. I make bows for almost every birthday. Let's see if any of them rediscover
the bowmaking thing... But never expect from your kidz to share your passion too much. Usually they start their own thing early enough, that's life and fine too  ;)

That's great, and I relate. I've built my kids, their spouses, and all my grand kids bows, arrows, and quivers. Keep it up,they may lose interest, but they will never forget.

My youngest (5 years old) loves chipping away at a “bow” while I’m working on mine. The other day we’re working away together and he says “ok dad, I’m ready for some snake skin!” I almost died I loved it so much!

I was working on my shaving horse when my then 4yr old daughter asked:

"Can I use this?" (this being my farriers rasp)

Me (being a bad dad and not really paying enough attention): "Sure...."

A few moments later the sound of rasping wood caught my attention.
