Moosewood, Acer Pennsylvanicum, striped maple for bow?
« on: May 08, 2008, 01:05:48 pm »
Anybody ever use this or know of moosewood bows being made?  I made a walking stick years ago from one.  It tends to be small, grows in stands in shade in the NE.  Pretty tree.

I made one a few years ago-bendy handled Eastern Woodland flatbow style about 1 3/8" wide, 45# or so. easy wood to work, a little light and took a bit of set, but made a good shooting bow.
