Oh, baby, that's a fine bow Arvin made! so for the chance at that bow, you just have to be ready to ship by the deadline? which is like Oct 20 or something?
You have to have “shipped” by October 20. Someone is going to get a dandy just for showing up.

i think we also want to wait till a couple weeks before the deadline to make sure you send the bow to someone who actually finished their bow.

My phone is down and I won't be able to post anything till I can find a cheap one. I'm almost done with my trade bow. I'll get it shipped out a soon as I get it finished and shot in.

Here are some pics of my Plan B bow: a Crepe Myrtle take-down.  Ring has been chased, limbs roughed out and sleeve inserts fitted.

So, I decided to fume my trade bow. I'm pretty happy with the results. The bow is Osage & the glued up handle is yellow heart. The tannins in the yellow heart react nicely and give a brilliant yellow color. I like to wait about a week after fuming to brace the bow. If tiller wasn't affected by the fume I'll shoot it some more, make any corrections and then on to the finishing process. May take a little longer than usual dealing with high humidity.

Hey guys. Time to see a progress report - I’d like to hear from everyone and see a picture of where everyone is since we are about 3.5 months out from our shipping deadline. As for me...I’m just wrapping up the finishing touches on my 2.0 bow - no frets and looking pretty good. I’ll wrap it up in the next week or two and post some pictures then.

I've got two bows tillered and shooting them in now, then I'll pick one for the trade based on the results of shooting them for a while.  One is osage backed with bamboo, and the other is hickory backed with bamboo.  I know the hickory one is absolutely bomb-proof based on a couple other BBH bows made from the same hickory tree.  The BBO is made on a piece of osage from a new source that I haven't used before, so I want to shoot it for a while to see how it works out.

Starting to look like a bow.  Low braced tillering now with about 15# to go.

I have the cherry board bow roughed out and awaiting rawhide.  This stuff is a pleasure to work and seems pretty light.  Tip overlays are black walnut.

Why must we make simple things so complicated?

Great work guys! Just a reminder that as we approach the deadline please notify me when you are ready to ship but hold off until I give you the green light - no bows will be shipped to someone not making satisfactory progress. Thanks and keep at it!

Since this started I made a few. One is completly finished, the rest of them is ready tillered and shot in but need some finishing touches. I will now decide which one will be my trade bow and do the finishing works.
