That's awesome... I feel like im not going to be able to make a bow up to par with some of you guys! I don't have much more interesting wood... so hickory is all ive got... Im going to make the best bow ive ever made though! (hopefully) :)

ive always wanted to makw a takedown, seemed like sorta a pain though

Shipping a takedown makes up for part of it though.  :)

I hope my recipient likes the plains style, it is very maneuverable and convenient to carry, but I personally like the long draw of 60"+ longbows.

Keep at it and one day your bows will be the envy of others, and then this bow would be like your rookie card : )

Glue up number 2 in progress. Going with a tried and true combo but one I’ve never done - boo backed Osage. Gluing in 3 inches of Perry reflex. I’m 1 3/8 inches wide to mid limb then taper to the tips. Also trying EA40 for the first time. Fingers crossed.

Horns finally done curing out after a few weeks in a controlled environment. Now it’s time to sinew back on Monday. Till then shredding elk leg and back tendons

That’s awesome. Little update on mine I’ve got the first layer of sinew down. Only 3 more to go and then I get to tiller and decorate.

Finally able to get caught up a little on my trade bow. Since plan A didn't work out as planned I moved on to another osage stave, plan B. I got it to brace and at my target draw weight at 23". I have another 5 inches to my 28" goal. Tiller still needs some work but I'm pretty satisfied with the results so far.

I read through last year's trade thread, and I realized that no one here has mentioned what draw method they use.  I shoot one over two under, with or without a shelf.

Good catch tradcraftsman. Definitely slipped by me too. I guess I always assume someone shoots split finger unless otherwise specified. I shoot split, one over two under myself. Might be a good idea for participants to notify Kidder of their shooting style if other than split so Kidder could notify the builder. Just a thought.

That would make sense.  I'm not sure how to build for a three under though.   :-\

I shoot 3 under  :)

I used to shoot split, now I just tiller my bottom limb ever so slightly stiffer..... seems to work fine for me ???
