Back on Jan 22nd I posted an Osage bow that exploded on me with no warning also. Stave was several years old when I got it. Stored in my basement for a year before it turned into a bow. 200 arrows from it always in the basement. Strung it one day, 1st time to full draw it exploded. A few days later I bought an indoor thermometer that also reads humidity. Put it in my basement , 64degrees and 32% humidity. My conversion estimates that to about 6% MC of the wood. I not saying that’s the only reason it exploded, but I’m convinced it did contribute. Now I think I’m just going to chase some rings on staves, seal them as soon as I get one done, then move them to the garage until more favorable working conditions exists.
