Yep!  That is what they look like!  Anywhere from $12 - $16 USD per pelt or more!  Marc, I almost had hysterics picturing you trying to get the cat and the weasel out of the house!  Sort of like me trying to rescue a bunny from my 2 dogs in the back yard - I managed to spooked the dog off just at the right time to let the bunny get through the fence!  I sealed off the hole after that!

I took a short video through the window of him on the suet ball. The birds in the background are not worried about him

A falconer friend in England has been posting video of his pet weasel playing. The little stinker harasses the dogs and the cat with vicious glee! When it tires of making the other pets miserable he will turn on the humans. The weasel attacks hands like it is a battle for universal domination, attacks and retreats at lightning speed. So far, the weasel doesn't break skin and is quite gentle. When it has burned sufficient energy, it runs up your torso to dive into a shirt pocket or under your collar to sleep. An altogether charming fur coated mini-Slinky toy.
Guns have triggers. Bicycles have wheels. Trees and bows have wooden limbs.

Trad,
That was the retail price some time back at a shop in Estes Park, and at the Rocky Mountain College Rendezvous.  I haven't looked for any lately.

Trad,
Those were cased and tanned.  A friend also gifted me several.

Ok.  I have found raw furs for substantially less than that; I wanted to get an idea of how good a deal they are :D
I'm trying to find a way to add fur to my gear without making it look frilly.

Aww!  A little frill and foofaraw never hurts!  Those little ermine look real nice on my sporran >:D (lol)
Maybe not so cool on hunting gear, though (SH) :-D :G (-_) :G (-_) (B)!  I think if you can get for about $6.00 raw, it is a fair price

I was outside splitting my firewood a couple years ago, this was after the snow had melted, when I heard a scuffle in the brush next to me.  Out came a Chipmunk with a young Weasel on his tail.  The Chipmunk ran towards me while the Weasel hesitated for a second then followed right after.  The Chipmunk ran between my feet and the Weasel started to do the same but changed his mind.  I don't think the Weasel would have been able to catch the Chipmunk since he was quite young and I don't think he would have been able to do anything with him if he did catch him but it was cute to see

He was just honing his hunting skills for later. ;) :) Don't think we have any weasels around here, never seen one or even heard of one in this part of the country. :)
