Looks pretty good... I’d agree with what you said...  :)
Why must we make simple things so complicated?

Heres where my stave is at now. I plan on heat treating, straightening, and adding reflex in a caul all in one go. The limbs are at a suitable thickness to begin floor tillering after that.

Alright my bows finished hopefully. 62#at 27”. I am currently shooting it to see the weight drop hopefully around 5# and make sure tiller stays good before I add more finish. I have plans to add a leather handle which I will be able to lace on and take back off if I want to rather than gluing it permanently on, which is what I usually do. I will get some photos taken tomorrow and posted

Is that black locust?

East creek,
You might be better to get to floor tiller or more before the heat treat and bending.  Not so much wood to heat that way.

Got mine very roughed out, looks like it will be a real challenging piece of hickory!  Basic overbuilt flat bow using Paul Comstock's guidelines.  Will try to post pics later.

Yes its black locust. I want to do the straightening before i do my width taper so i can secure it in my caul more easily while it has parallel edges.

Got one limb close to floor tiller specs, have a plate full of other stuff tomorrow, may be able to get after it in the evening or this weekend.  Still have to work on the handle and fades.  May have to call for help posting pics, however, having technical difficulties with this iPad!  It may wind up as a target (SH) :NN :OK (lol)

Finished up. Have shot around 150 through it or so. A little over sixty pounds, hoping it will drop some. Here's the photos
