Nice calls! Allow a question. I know how to make them, but does it sound? Is there possibility to put a "listen to TWC" into this thread? Is it blow like a whistle or a sucking sound?

Uwe, Questions always welcome.

You must suck, not blow, to make the yelping sounds. It is a rhythmic sucking, like lighting a pipe, or kissing repeatedly. In the "How Tos and Build-a-longs" forum I just posted a compleat teutorial on building the calls, and near the begining, as I recall, is a more extensive description of the use or technique. I hope this helps.

One of these days I must learn how to post a video/audio clip and add it to my teutorials, but I just stay too busy (I think - LOL).

Thanks for the answer. I thought it is to be sucked, when I remember the "houseturkey´s"  calls of our early neighbour.
It makes sence. And a turkey is so stupid to be atracted by these calls?

  ;D Well, one always hopes they will - but a lot of times they will not - no matter how good a person gets at using it. The Wing Bone Calls can be very effective, though, especially if the birds aren't hearing to many more manmade "calls" than actual birds. One of the guys on another forum took a Turkey last Spring with one of my two bone calls - His (grown) son was using the call for him. In fact it was one of the calls I was making in the Teutorial.

LOL - I'm very pleased that you do, nugget, and thanks for saying so. I talked to my bowyering friend, Mike (who has a great work shop) about  cutting all those sweet Osage chunks into nice usable pieces for knife parts for me - he's on board.
