just made a killer novaculite blade. scars are perfect... however you can't really see them .. wet blade and they pop... dry .. nothing..lol... gray and white material... any suggestions... tru oil.. not a fan... wax? if it had a lil sheen they would really show...its been heat treated or so I was told... gut

Drip white wax on it ( many spots on the blade) and carefully (cuz its hot) hold over a torch to melt and spread the wax over the blade. I rub the wax in with a paper towel. Do both sides. After the blade cools off buff the blade with a cotton shirt. This will shine it up and cover small blemishes/steps.  I do this to all my points and blades. Really makes the blade/point look nice.

Just now seeing this. I rub Cedarwood Oil on some points and buff on my cotton jeans. Cedarwood Oil is available in health food stores and is actually used to treat and penetrate/clear up emeralds a little.
