Decorative paint or sealer first?

Should I paint my decorations then seal the bow or vv?

What I've done is put on a urethane, paint, then finish sealing. Jawge

Same here, or else the paint can bleed and you won't have clear lines.

The urethane prevents the paint from bleeding into the wood?

Yes. Shellac will work too.

Shellac ,then acrylic ,then shellac, then poly.
