In my opinion a bow should not be left braced for any longer than necessary, whether self or laminated, straight or recurve.
The only exception seems to be the horn/sinew composite bows that are left braced for long periods of time, perhaps because they were quite difficult to string and balance in the first place.
A laminated bow can be hung vertically unstrung OK, but should not be left braced.
One day some brave soul will do a scientific study and measure the amount of set (or not) caused by leaving their bows braced for long periods of time!
