How soon is too soon?
« on: July 25, 2020, 11:03:09 pm »
I have stave thats just now one year cut and split. Its 2x2 dimension, and been in 70% relative humidity for the year.  I just debarked it. Is it bow time or no time, I have never worked a stave so young before.

I normally only give 'em a year, mind 2x2 is quite big... maybe get it roughed out and then let it settle for a few weeks?

I agree with Del. 70% RH is pretty humid. No moisture meter? Jawge

The chart says that at 70% RH the wood won't go below 13%. Maybe rough it out and leave it in the front of the truck for a few days.
