Is a ratio of 1 to 3, dried sinew to wood, ideal, given the dried sinew is at least 1/8" thick. Can you go heavier on the sinew, approaching 3:5?
I have an oak stave that I over tillered, so it is 40# at 21, with ntn length of 43" and a non bending handle of 5".
I have two course on it, a edge to edge layer and then a layer down the center. I did this twice, hence 2 courses.
Width is 1/8 at tips, so will be thicker at mid limbs.
Would like to get it back to 45# at 21". May not be doable, as the sinew will reach real diminishing returns. (I can soak the sinew off, reuse it)
