I have a bow lose some early high draw weight. This has raised questions for me.
The data for it is below:
Draw length pounds
10"..................11#
14....................21#
15....................23.5
16....................26.5
17.....................29
18......................33
19......................36
20.......................39
21......................42
22......................45.5
23......................49 (I am pulling it about 23.5")
24......................53#
Bow is 52.5 NTN. Maple belly TB3 glued onto a sinew-hickory backing. Set is 1.5, both limbs.
I had an old bow, one that has been through H*&! with me learning. I got rid of the original belly and put a hard, sugar maple belly on it. First attempt, had a slight hinge, so rasped it away, and put another one on.
Does this look reasonable, for draw weight at 10, 14 inches? It had much more early draw weight, and was "crisper to shoot," but I lost it in final 3 inches of tiller. Does that mean the bow wanted to be a 20" draw bow?
