I think maybe if it goes back this time I will try the dry heat and lard method. So far mine hasn't gone back much after being in the dryer. I'm also thinking a form during the initial stages of roughing out to close to finished dimensions, then set to dry, will maybe solve some of these problems for me. Also was thinking the hickory should be bone dry before steaming in corrections? Mine was at 15%

if hickory is green then steam.. if dry .. 12 or below dry heat.. also depends on how much you need to correct... dry heat on wet wood will cause checks... gut
