I recently finished a shagbark hickory selfbow with a lot of remote help from my friend BowEd here on this site. The bow is 67” in length and draws 53# @ 29”. I stained the back with Feibings dark brown and black dye and sanded the high spots for a camouflage look. I finished the bow with six coats of Tru-oil and a final coat of spar-urethane. The string is Dacron B-50. I originally planned to make the bow center-shot following the grain around a knot in the handle but I chickened out and left a little more wood there for protection. Bow shoots really nice and will likely be with me when I hunt whitetails here in PA this fall. Thanks for looking.
