Is everyone outdoors looking for rose Wood after they Saw my bow?

I have a few rm near me but nothing that big!

I’ve never seen rose that big. Looks like you got it shooting.
I think looking on my phone that it’s bending plenty out of the handle. Especially top limb.

I have a few seasoning that are going to be narrow longbows. I think most of us look for bows in everything. I was at one of the big box stores and saw hibiscus growing like trees and thought, "two of those and I would have a pair of billets". A hundred dollars for an experiment seems a bit high though....

If it’s bending to much in one spot it’s not a good thing. I’m not sure it is, but I suspect it is close to a hinge Top limb right out of bendy handle. If you need to get more draw and remove more wood stay away from that spot. Keep in mind I’m just looking at a picture on my phone. It’s a common spot to develop a hinge though.

o.k., rose is something special - but I would prefer nearly every other wood than this. I tried a stick years ago and it was a slow noodle - not worse the effort.
Seems like you have a rare good quality piece.

Maybe It difference in where It did grow, this one is about 15 years old, i did a real quick ring count, last few rings were roughly estimated
