Anyone made a successful gut bow string?

If anyone has made a successful gut bowstring i would be greatly appreciative to know in detail the steps made to do so. Pictures or even video would be amazing too! *already aware of two videos up on youtube*

I have made 3 attempts at making sinew string resulting in beautiful but weak string that failed when being strung onto a 45lb bow. I have had similar results when making 4 ply hog casing bow strings.

I use cleaned hog casing from my local butcher without any fat attached and minimal splicing needed. I essentially use a flemish twist using two cords each made of 2 lengths of twisted gut strands, than let dry under tension for a few days.

I hear bear or dear gut are the best options but being that it is neither hunting season nor would anyone be able to sell me any where i live, hog casing is my only option. I know its possible since there are photos and a video of functioning hog gut strings so i just want to know from yall what i could be doing wrong.

Just a tip.  Use Tennis racquet gut.   The best gut comes from ruminants with a section of gut that is essentially sinew.

 Just using random parts of intestine won't work well.

Jim Hamm in his book ,bows and arrows of the native Americans on page 85 shows bow strings tied from deer gut, rawhide, yucca, Elk sinew, and Buffalo sinew. they look good. I tried to tie a cordage string lately with no luck so far. Most likely know how on my part.
