I have a yew ELB that was 75#@27”. It is backed with rawhide. I believe it was built in the early 80’s by a local man. Not my draw weight at this stage, or any other stage, of my life! It was tillered beautifully. So I used a cabinet scraper, being timid, to take wood off evenly. All the while rechecking tiller. I got it down to 54#@27”. After shooting it over the past week I noticed about 3/4” string follow. Within an 1/2 hour after shooting it goes back to it’s original form. Is this normal or acceptable in this design?
