Hi folks,
I came across this wiki (
https://bogensportwiki.info/index.php?title=Kategorie:H%C3%B6lzer ) from our German brethren over at Fletchers Corner (
https://fletchers-corner.de/viewforum.php?f=15 ) where they have some information about bow woods.
It has some hints on how to dry, whether or not to split and debark, easy to bend with steam or dry heat, which designs are most fit, what draw weights can be achieved. Unfortunately, for some woods it has only limited information, most is - (how to put it politely?) - hard to read if you don't know the language
(eg. for Yew:

With all the knowledge that folks on this forum have, I think it should be possible to create this too... but more complete and "easier to read"
I think that would be a valuable resource for beginners.
How about a new sub-forum with 1 thread per wood species, and the first post listing a few items,
then a bunch of replies with anecdotal information from the experienced bowyers...
(I just don't see how people could contribute to the first post with the general information - the "thread started" would need to accumulate the information since he can edit his own post - but that may cause a lot of post with requests for adding or changing small bits of information...)
Anyone else got a better idea?
