Sap wood Osage bow
« on: May 12, 2024, 05:57:56 pm »
Just finished a wonky sap wood Osage bow. 66" long. 33 lbs at 25 inches with a past center  cut shelf for strictly target shooting. To my amazement it tuned great with Predator 30 inch 20-40 carbon shafts. The low stretch 652 string, and 2 inches of reflex the bow held at finish helped I'm sure. I had the stave for some time, but was always reluctant to use it  as I new it would be a sapwood Osage bow  in the end, and I had never built one. I'm more than happy with the end results.

Osage sapwood is as good or better than many other bow woods. Got any pics?
