My plains indian style arrows
« on: April 24, 2020, 12:09:36 am »
I completed these arrows a few weeks ago.  Tapered at the front and rear and at the nocks, sinew wrapped, trade points, only thing not true to form is i used Spruce shafts as opposed to shoots. Still happy with how they came out, and i was surprised at how much penetration the trade points had on a 1" thick stall mat. My native american friend in WA contacted me to make some for their naming ceremony.  I was honored.  I do like how well these fly with their long feathers:)

Glad you guys like my arrows!

Bowed-actually these points were given to me so i don't know much about them. They are thinner than i might have imagined.

I'd hate to release one of those arrows out in the woods. Too pretty to lose.

To be asked to make the arrows for a naming ceremony is a very high honor, regardless of your "nation"!!   Congratulations!   Those are very fine arrows!

Liked the bow before, and I like the arrows.  Looks like you are both patient and dedicated.

Awesome work! They look reminiscent of Jim Hamm's arrows from his book "bows and arrows of the native Americans".

Looks like you could be in the northern Black Hills from the background in the photos!

Lovely arrows. Functional as well as attractive.
