My favorite animal to watch. Probably has some pups close by.

Is that a gray fox, ED. I thought reds had a white tip on their tails.

It's a red.I'm sure they've got a den nearby. They've already shed their winter coat.We do have gray fox too though. They are a little smaller than the reds though.

Yup that’s a red. Sometimes they have a quite a bit of black fur. The buyers usually try to get them real cheap. I bought a couple from my old buyer and tanned them. I think they look really nice. My wife wanted the one hung in our bedroom.

It’s really fun watching those pups play Ed.

Cute little guys. I have shot two grey fox with bows, one with a long bow and one with an old recurve that I paid 25 cents for at a yard sale. Was going to write a story on that one and was going to call it "My Two Bit Fox" but never wrote the story.

I hav'nt located the den yet.Probably never will either but figure to see a few more around this winter. The varmint hunters and running dog owners have been hard on the coyotes around here lately.Gives these fox a little more breathing room.
Pretty good accomplishment nailing a fox with a bow and arrow.
