Made this one for Pearly a few years back. i hope its a lot dirtier these days:)
Made it from a tanned Bull Elk I was fortunate to harvest back in 2012 and had professionally tanned, back then i know i would have messed it up big time lol.
I lined it with red wool and the bead work was really fun, this was my second beading project. Wish i could remember what size beads they were. either 11 o r 12. the shoulder strap is a 2 part-er, one half i added a beaded wool panel of the same color pattern just opposite. the other half is just a simple 3 strand braid.
A couple blue/red/white chevron trade beads hold on the little ermine tails. Also added a few dentalium shells along some of the bead work and borders of the bag.
And of course whats a possibles bag without a patch knife? I had a small knife made from 4140 and antler that i have no idea where it came from. just laying around in its box and no sheath. It has an odd shaped hilt that made it perfect for just a little simple tie thong to hold it up square.
if i remember properly he had shot that fox while out hunting those whitetail things. the tanned face made a nice addition to the closed flap. idk if its all that visible but i put some abalone behind the foxes empty eye holes as well.
Anyways thanks for looking:) possible bags are always a fun project, i have some nice light weight veg tan, and more elk bucksin for some more bag projects.
