My first long bow.
« on: March 30, 2020, 03:10:57 pm »
Hi!
I'm not sure is that just a long bow or a longbow :D. Outer limbs are from longbow but the middle part is almost like flatbow with unbending handle. Its the longest bow I'v ever made.
 68"long
50# at 26"
Bamboo/cumaru/juniper. Juniper is from two billets joined with V- splice.
Tips and arrow pass are made from cow horn.
Vegetable tanned cow hide grip
Holding some reflex, I didn't measure how much.
Full draw shot is taken of a moving bow. I'll make a better picture tomorrow :).
Crony 180 fps the best shot. The slowest 172 fps with 490 gr arrow.

Very nice tri-lam longbow, Maitus or whatever you call it.  ;) Beautiful work all around. The handle wrap is especially cool. Well done.
