Self bow racks
« on: April 09, 2020, 10:37:26 am »
Last winter I found a dead snakey grained osage tree while clearing a new trail.  I brought it home and let it dry for a year.  I cut it in half longways and cleaned up the backs.  I made osage dowels and sealed them with Shellac.  I left one rack the full length but I cut the other one in half to fit on each side of the window.  I keep my FG bows on the full length rack and the selfbows on the 2 short racks.  I have them in my archery room.  I have plans of making osage furniture to match the bow racks.

Here is the full length rack

I started out with nothin' and I still got most of it left

Very nice!  Those would make very good trade items, or craft sale stuff!

Those look great, nice bows too! I've got a few more projects in mind for some of that osage you sent me a while back, and a couple more pictures of stuff I did with it recently that I'll have to send your way.
