Bownarra's bow
« on: April 04, 2020, 01:05:47 pm »
I started a new thread about this bow. I just noticed as I was saving it that it is a hornbow. I like it :D Do you have an unbraced picture you could post. I'm interested in how much reflex there is and where it is. Thanks

Very nice bow indeed  ;)

Could you post some full draw pictures ?

Is it 5 piece construction ?

I'll get a full draw picture this afternoon.
I shot it some this morning to get some speed figures on it. 11 gpp 175 - 180 fps, with 9 gpp 195 - 200fps.
Yes it is 5 piece.
Handle is hornbeam, limbs maple and tips black locust. I love locust for tips sections as it bends nicely, is stiff for its thickness and nicely hard and durable. Same it doesn't grow here. I may have to see if someone has any to trade!

Beautiful. I was hoping for an unbraced picture.
