Looking for flax seed for fiber
« on: April 06, 2020, 02:42:28 pm »
Well it’s official my girlfriend wants to learn to make everything by hand and use it. So I’m looking for flax seed to grow into linen fiber to make her bowstring and a couple of mine. Anyone got anything? I tried online but due to the virus flying around most online areas are closed.

I went to the locals grocery store and bought flax seed, planted it and it work great for fiber and have made a bunch of bow string from it. Plant it dense and it will grow taller, harvest when flowers are blooming. Leave some for seed, and you’ll never run out

I thought those were cooked or processed in some way. I didn’t think they could grow. I’ll have to go get some.

Nope, I’ve always bought from the bulk section and they grow just fine. Good luck with the project. I’m about to plant some flax, just got the ground tiller yesterday
