Thanks for the compliments guys. I've learned so much from you guys in the past few years and I'm very grateful for all the knowledge shared on this site. You guys are awesome.
Got the grip stitched up so I'll call this hickory bow done. Not my best stitching job but it'll do.  Next I'm on to some boo arrows and an osage bow for my girlfriend.

I got it basically roughed out! It’s coming together! Should the width I rough it out to be .5” with the limbs being 1.5” wide? This is turning out great!

I pulled this stave out to work on tomorrow.

GLued some overlays on a sassafrass bow from a stave jonw gave me.

took a pic of the sunset here in eastern Missouri. We had a few sprinkles here tonight. I had the shop door open and the music up to match the neighbors all outside and social distancing.

I heated this failed bow stave that is going to get a bamboo backing tomorrow hopefully.

I flattened the boo with a farriers rasp, traced it out over top of the old bow, then cut it out with the bandsaw.  I have to thickness the boo again tomorrow then glue it on.

here it is off the caul.

You are plenty thick there Russel.  Check you limb width tapers compared to the grain of the wood in your limbs. It looks like your thickness could be a little more even...unless there are some knots you are avoiding. Other than that, it looks like a great start.

Thickness tapers? I just used my finger to draw a consistent 1/2" line.

Went right from floor tiller to low brace. Definitely need some tweaking but this old knotty piece might actually make a bow
