Ash-backed-Yew - 65" - 45# @ 27"
« on: March 08, 2020, 01:39:29 pm »
Hi Folks

This stave was originally thought to become the 2nd bow in my build along with Martin. Alone, there was tricky big knot appearing in the sapwood which I didnt manage to work around properly. I decided to back the stave with ash and take another stave for Martin who does not like the laminated stuff  8) After I decided to completly ignore the few little branches in the one limb it became a real fun and quick build - so easy and relaxing to work a flawless piece of wood. Drawweight is perfect for my shooting and the arrows do what they are supposed to do   :BB

Thanks for watching and thanks everybody for sharing your bows and ideas  :OK

Beauty, the Ash blends right in with the sapwood. Martin never would have noticed it was backed ;D ;D

Nice looking bow. Well done.

Simon called me today, seems Swiss handle things like Austria right now.
He also told me about this bow, which I have missed. By the way, nice to see so many bows, lately.
Yes, DC, you are maby right and I wouldn't have noticed ;D ;D and at least a bow in my hands >:D. Hurry up Simon maybe I need something good to hunt with soon...
And yes I admire selfbows more than backed ones except sinewed ones and hornbows which are on my list too...
This is an excellent made bow and I would be proud to be the owner.
All three profiles looking perfect...very nice bend.
The hollowed recurves are looking really cool. Guess with osage you can get em really slim ;)
Very nice work!
Stay save!
Martin
