Nice bird!  Good looking muzzleloader, too!  Managed to find a drop-in 20 gauge barrel for my TC Hawken, just need to get some wads, and a tag!

Thanks, everybody. It was a tense morning when I pulled the trigger with him standing at 33 yards and the gun just sparked. There was a heavy, low lieing dew in the air and the moisture kept it from firing. While the bird was looking at me I eased the gun to the right behind a tree and cleared the touch hole with my pick and stirred the powder a little. Then eased it back over and the second time was a charm.

Eric, I used a thick hard card, dry thick felt, olive oil thick felt on top of 85 grains of 2F and 1 1/2 ounce of #5 with a thin felt.

Thank you John. It was funny, the bird went down hard. When I was taking pictures one of his eyes blinked. I had to wop him in the head a little.

Rob, the gun is a "Curly" NW Trade gun I bought at our Rendezvous in January. The powder horn was made for me by my good friend Chris Cade.
