A Gizmo as fancy as they get.

I have been making some special bow making tools for the upcoming Trad Gang St Jude auction. A guy gave me some exhibition grade walnut gunstock cut-offs. This stuff is unreal but I only had enough wood to make 4 gizmos, I even signed these because they are so special.

What is the length of it? I built my first gizmo a week ago for my first longbow I wasn't able to tiller without it.
Yes.... I made my first longbow just a week ago :D :D...

That is a beautiful piece of wood and an heirloom grade tool. I will second the question about length. Also, does this take a pencil for marking the limb or is the dowel a handle and you just eyeball the gap to the limb?

6" long, it actually has a fresh coat of hand rubbed Tru-oil on it, the dowel is how I hold it while I apply more finish. After I get enough finish on it I will screw a pencil into it just like every other gizmo out there.

That gizmo may be a broken arrow shaft screwed into the nut, all my gizmo holders have an arrow point taper on them so I can screw them into the 5/16" nut in the gizmo.

These curly maple gizmos have already been posted on the Trad Gang St Jude auction, I finished them about a week ago.

Those are primo gizmos!  They should do well in the auction!  And for a very worthy cause, we donate when we can.

For those of you who are curious about the gizmo dimensions, you may have overlooked this.
