The aboriginals here in Taiwan where I live prefer to use a similar tree that sometimes goes under the same name: murraya paniculata. Great bow wood and it looks very similar. Impossible to find a straight piece, so most of the bows are traditionally snakey knotty things. Has the best compression I've seen in a wood outside juniper. Hell of a lot heavier. The aboriginals also use it for hammer heads because it takes a beating and doesn't check easily.
