Beauty.  I would love to get my hands on some Osage even if it was saplings and limbs.   I don’t of much that grows around here.

I dig it my guy. Since I’m a PNW guy I appreciate the sapwood lol I find it intriguing that the 2 best/iconic bow woods have that thin white sapwood. That is the bees knees for tension strength. The nocks almost look like a light colored granite.
 Not sure if your looking for any kind of pointers but isn’t that why we post? Lol but if you wanted you could trim down the underside of your nocks a hair, flatten that out a bit, reduce a bit of weight out there (albeit not much) and have a cleaner line through there. Just a thought Mandingo.

Gotta love them limb bows.

Just did one and it is about 80% Sapwood. Great thing about them is: six months and small diameter is ready to build with.

Bryce, I was wondering if someone would point that out. I agree 100%.  I give away so many bows, and my buddy who gets most of them has bad knees and ends up using the bow as much for a walking stick as a deer killer, and he does plenty of that too. If I end up keeping the bow for myself I will take off some more wood there. I just feel like I dont want to make the tips too fragile if I'm giving it away. Maybe I shouldnt concern myself with that so much? Anyway, thanks for your thoughts.

Yeah I hear ya.  I’ve used the end of my bows to dig in the dirt sometimes lol. That’s why I usually make the bottom nick round like ball bearing cut in half or something like that. Little button nock.
