Jaw bone
« on: January 23, 2020, 12:16:14 pm »
I’ve never been a big fan of these handles, but I thought I’d give it a try. They just never looked that comfortable to me. This blade just seemed to fit perfectly. I cut the jaw off right before the first tooth and cut a slit to Halve the blade. I cut other end of jaw off where I liked it and glued on a black walnut and English walnut button. Think I’m going to display it on this piece of driftwood.
Should look something like this.

PS I’m really surprised. It’s really very comfortable in the hand.

Thanks Steve. If I keep this up I might have enough stuff to start decorating my house to. My wife really likes this one. It’s almost scary how she handles it in her hand. I keep thinking she’s going to say “it will kill”

That's a beauty and a keeper. Snatch it away from her before she hurts herself. (AT)

Beautiful work bj! I've met your wife, if she handles that knife like you say I'm worried about you too buddy!  >:D

Thanks Patrick.
We always put out the alert “She’s Got a Knife”  whenever she’s handling one. People in the know give her lots of room.lol

That is a very fine piece!  I definitely see why your wife likes it!  If the rack is empty one day, check the kitchen!

Thanks Kevin. Someday I’m going to have to try a forge to. I certainly am not a expert knapper, but I keep getting a little better at making sharp pointy things. It still has a way of keeping me humble though.
