Fire Dancer Bows DVD

Does anyone know when this DVD from Keith Shannon, Billy Berger, and Thad Beckum is going to be released? I am highly skeptical but am going to buy it out of curiosity and at least for the entertainment value.

What made you think this would be the place to join up and ask?

Mostly because of the long thread on this topic here already. Seemed like someone might have an idea when it’s going to be out.

I emailed Billy Berger about it a few days ago, as I assume it will be sold through his website. I have not heard back yet. I am also skeptical but interested. If it is $20 or less, I will probably buy it.

Ok. Yes I would be willing to pay up to $25 or so but otherwise will wait to hear the reviews. Who knows maybe it will blow everyone away.

Certainly a nice bit of marketing, with their video trailer. Fibreglass performance with a white wood bow. From what I have seen it includes highly reflexed designs and heat treating on the belly. That definitely helps performance, but we have known about these processes for a long time.
Is there a revolutionary process previously undiscovered by modern bowyers? Who knows, but I would still buy it just out of curiousity.

I heard back from Billy Berger earlier today. He said they are working hard to get the DVD ready to release by December 1.

Great me too. I'm really looking forward to watching it and then making my own mind up.

Badger, Mark St Louis, and sleek , and many more have made some really high performance bows on this forum. My mind tells me if their bows  are any faster it would be marginal at best no matter how they heat treat them. The difference between vintage recurves, and new  high tech super recurves all else being equal is about 20 fps, and that is using carbon for limbs, ILF risers of lam wood or metal, FF strings. I will use my money for another spool of FF string which has been one of the biggest innovations to come along in a long time when you are talking bow performance.JMO
