This is a small area where NC, SC and GA come together. It's along the Blue Ridge escarpment, where the mountains rise above the foothills. Warn moist air coming up from the Gulf hits the escarpment, rises and dumps right on us. It's not constantly overcast like Portland. We have lots of sunny days in all four seasons.
