Great day in the deer woods
« on: October 10, 2019, 09:03:02 am »
I was unable to pull a bow last year as the result of a motorcycle accident. Someone hit my wife and I...no fun, and no more motor bike for me. But we are almost back to new, and happy to be here.

Spent the morning with my son. I shot the buck first from a climbing stand, then watched him put a stalk on a deer to get his first stickbow kill. This is the 4th deer with my osage, around 50# at 28", my son has about the same stats with his. I shoot cedar with zwickey 125 4 blade, he shoots gold tip trads and a three blade.

Good job Bobert! My son and I almost pulled that off last year, I missed and he didn't :)

That is wonderful. Two deer with selfbow in same morning. Truely a morning to remember.

That's fantastic. Thanks for sharing both of your stories. Glad you recovered from the bike accident. My buddy and his wife had accident this summer. They are both still working on recovery and rehab.

PS I really miss shooting selfbow with him. Sure hope they both make a full recovery.

Thanks, it really feels just so great to be pulling a selfbow again, and spending time in the deer woods with friends and family.

I do hope your friends make a full recovery bj, and you guys are flinging arrows again soon.

HAHAHA! How does it feel to get humbled by a kid?  LOL! You had to shoot a great big ol' target and he is the better shot so he can hit the small targets!

Anyway, it really does look like it was a good day. Two nice deer, two great bows, two good men! What more is there to ask for?

I like your perspective JW, I'll pass it on to my son, especially the kid part, he will get a kick out of it...he's 35 years old! When he was in the service,  they called him babyface.
