This is the second Pacific Nine Bark bow I've made. The first was just a stick. This one I finished. Nine Bark is very pretty wood. Looks like Yew and so far behaves like it too. This one is a little on the small diameter side so the sapwood/heartwood line doesn't show on the side except at the tips. Sapwood is about 3/16-14" on every piece I've seen. Hard to find a straight piece so this is spliced. Next bow will be from a larger diameter and will show off the wood better. SG is about .9. I wasn't sure about the wood so I decided to make it a little longer and somehow I ended up with a 71" NTN bow. 42#@28". 171 fps at 10gpp so considering the extra length it's packing I think the wood hold promise.
