Here's my project. Ash backed ipe. It's only 61" long so I'm hoping for the draw length my guy is. Cant really say without giving it away. It will have a riser. I'll be sending this and some knife scales probably.   Providing this bow survives. It should though. Ipe is some great bow wood

(-P sorry I didn't get in everyone. We had some big changes in our operation in the past year and it's left me even more work than normal. I really hated to miss the Christmas trade but I know I have to.

I've got 2 bows I'm working on. One is a 60" R/D and the other one is 57"
Reflex bend through the handle. Both are ash backed Ipe. The bend through the handle has a 5/16" ash backing. I'm thinking that is too thick so I was thinking of putting a thinner piece of ash and doing a tri lam R/D.

I’m torn between being really happy for the recipients and being a bit jealous!

I’ve got a start on my gift, but I’m not really ready to show anything yet.

h ttps://history.nebraska.gov/archeology/lithic-collections

Not all of its good flintknapping material, and some comes too small to flintknap but this is a HUGE step!

Still trying to find things after Little Fiddle Woman led a yard and shed cleaning party while I was in LaLa Land after knee surgery.  I do have an idea, just have to get to the saws and do some fitting!

One of a couple of things I'm working on.  The body is from a piece of Russian olive I hollowed out.  I've never done this with rawhide lacing, always took the easy way out with production cordage.  I think I'll make a couple of tomtom's from some Apache plume.

I have something else I'm working on but need to make some more progress before pics.

Here's item #2.  Just finished sanding the blade and did the glue up.  Hope my guy feels special since I don't hand finish the steel often on account of it aggravates my bad shoulder, but in this case what's a few bags of ice and sleepless nights compared to a lifetime of joy?

AEB-L  rough dressed in what I think is stabilized mango.  Will update after shaping the handle. The dog thought I was withholding a treat for him.
